The Hungary Country Day Program was organized at the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) in cooperation with the Consulate General of Hungary in Istanbul and HEPA Türkiye.
Held at the SATSO Service Building, the program provided information on investment opportunities in Hungary, the country's economic structure, trade cooperation opportunities, potential sectors for the Turkish business community, and visa-related matters.
During the event, László Keller, Consul General of Hungary in Istanbul; Yalçın Orhon, General Manager of HEPA Türkiye; Miklós Bujáky, Trade Attaché of the Consulate General of Hungary in Istanbul; and Emre Cihad Sönmez, Country Manager of HEPA Türkiye, delivered presentations and answered SATSO members’ questions regarding Hungary.
Speaking about trade and investment relations between Hungary and Türkiye, Consul General Keller emphasized that Hungary’s strategic location in Europe makes it an important gateway for investors seeking access to European markets. He noted that the country offers numerous investment opportunities, incentives, and support programs, while its position within the Schengen Area enables businesses to reach a market of over 500 million consumers.
HEPA Türkiye General Manager Orhon highlighted the long-term nature of international trade cooperation and underlined the mutual advantages of investment partnerships between Hungary and Türkiye. He stated that HEPA provides guidance and support to companies seeking to do business in either country, aiming to create a sustainable win-win model.
Trade Attaché Bujáky shared practical information about investing in Hungary, noting that the country's projected economic growth exceeds the European Union average. He pointed out that more than 60% of Hungary’s exports are destined for European markets, making the country an attractive gateway for Turkish investors seeking broader access to Europe. He also emphasized Hungary’s competitive tax environment and qualified workforce.
HEPA Türkiye Country Manager Sönmez noted that a significant portion of Türkiye’s exports to Europe reaches its destination through Hungary’s transportation corridors, stressing that Hungary should be viewed not only as a standalone market but also as a strategic hub serving neighboring countries and the wider European region.
