Assessing the May export data announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, President Altuğ stated that: "Sakarya's exports for the period of May 2025 were realized as 509 million dollars with an increase of 36.6% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 15 percent compared to year-over-year. In the first quarter of the year, our cumulative exports exceeded 2 billion USD.
In May, the Business community in Sakarya exported to 118 destinations worldwide, including free zones. Spain, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy were the top 5 countries that we exported the most. We increased exports to a total of 50 countries. We exported more than 100 percent to 22 countries and over 50% more to 9 countries compared to last year.
Exports to Imports Coverage Ratio 100%
As emphasized by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) President Mustafa Gültepe, “Our exporters are going through truly difficult times. Unfortunately, Turkey’s economy is no longer driven by exports and production, but rather by consumption. The contribution of exports to growth remained at -0.56 percentage points, falling short of consumption’s impact.
