A. Akgün Altuğ, Chairman of the Board of Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, released a written statement with the occasion of the 9th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Chairman Altuğ stated in his statement:
“On the night of July 15, 2016, our beloved nation stood up for democracy, its flag, and its country by using only their chests as shields against tanks, weapons, and treacherous bullets.”
Each citizen who filled the streets and squares that night became a living testament to the enduring sovereignty of the Republic of Turkey. July 15 stands not only as a day of resistance, but also as a rebirth — a powerful display of national unity and solidarity.
As members of the business world, we continue to work with great determination and enthusiasm for our country and our people. We strive tirelessly to achieve our goals and contribute to national production.
On the anniversary of this ruthless assault, which failed to achieve its aims in the face of our nation's unity and willpower, I commemorate our martyrs with gratitude and mercy, extend my best wishes for good health to our veterans, and celebrate the Democracy and National Unity Day of our great Turkish nation."
