A. Akgün Altuğ, Chairman of the Board of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted Çıngız Toktobekov, Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul, along with his delegation.

During the meeting held in Chairman Altuğ’s office, attended by Secretary General Şevket Kırıcı, commercial and economic cooperation opportunities were discussed within the framework of the friendly and cultural relations between the two countries, as well as between Sakarya and Kyrgyzstan.

Expressing his appreciation for the warm hospitality, Consul General Toktobekov stated:
“We are two brotherly countries with strong ties of kinship, friendship, and cultural relations. With the sensitivity brought by these bonds, we need greater cooperation to grow stronger. To further strengthen our countries, we must, above all, focus on the economy. In 2024, 26 comprehensive agreements were signed between our countries, and a $5 billion trade volume target was set. We attach great importance to this goal, and it is valuable business people like you who will achieve it. As the Consulate General, we are planning a joint organization for the business world and would like to come together with the highly valued Sakarya business community to strengthen mutual cooperation. We would also be pleased to host Chairman Akgün Altuğ and his delegation in Kyrgyzstan in the near future. We believe this meeting will lay the foundation for a productive cooperation model.”

Chairman Altuğ, expressing his satisfaction with the visit, emphasized that the two countries can unite around even greater goals, stating:
“Our esteemed Consul General has honored our Chamber with his visit. Kyrgyzstan is a country we deeply value and always consider close to us. We attach importance to such visits with delegations from all countries. Without mutual dialogue, progress in culture, friendship, economy, and trade is not possible. There is already a significant trade volume between the two countries and cities, and our goal should be to further develop it. Even the $5 billion target is quite modest considering the potential of both countries; we believe we have the capacity to achieve much more. As Sakarya, we can be one of the leading cities contributing to this target, and we fully support it. We are pleased to contribute to any initiative aimed at strengthening relations and fostering mutual development. I would also like to thank our Consul General for his kind invitation.”
